Battle for Naboo Review -
The good folks over at ESCmag have just
posted up their review of the Nintend 64 Star Wars Title, Episode 1:
The Battle for Naboo. Here is a little taste to get you prepared:I
was prepared to not to like this game. The N64 is not my favorite game
console around, and judging by the box cover art, Battle for Naboo
appeared to be another title for the Nintendo 64 geared towards younger
players. The colors were primary and bright, and well, the Gungans were
from Naboo. ‘Nuff said.
It’s an understatement to say I was pleasantly surprised. Even if I had
had high hopes for this game, I would have been impressed. I’ll try not
to rave too much about George Lucas and his creative genius, having
done so ad nauseum in my review of Star Wars: Demolition, but what can
I say? The man knows what he is doing. Not only does the game blend
seamlessly into the Star Wars timeline, but it also utilizes the N64’s
strengths and manages to avoid its weaknesses, ultimately providing an
excellent package. Ooh Ooh, are you pumped yet? Even if you aren't, go read the review.

X-Box Dreamcast Compatible -
According to this article
over at Gamers.com, some credible sources have indicated the X-Box will
be fully compatible with the Dreamcast and capable of running DC
titles. Snip:Credible sources, who prefer to remain
anonymous, told us that Bill Gates and Microsoft will announce at the
spring Tokyo Game Show that the Microsoft Xbox will include the
Dreamcast chipset, allowing it to play all Dreamcast titles. This
announcement is expected to come on the first day of the show (March
30) when Bill Gates delivers his keynote address. And while not
finalized, we have been told that the DC chipset is already
incorporated into the Xbox, although at this time, the DC-compatible
Xbox has yet to be finalized as the market version of the system.
Microsoft and Sega have both denied these reports. Sega
is quite the enigma these days. First they are going out of business,
then they are as strong as ever. Then they are being bought by
Nintendo, then they are stopping Dreamcast production. Now Sega titles
will be playable on X-box. Oh the humanity, is this all fact of
fiction? AHH!

We All HATE Nintendo! -
It's no big secret that lately Nintendo
has been on a rampage, attemping to shutdown any website or publication
which uses the term Pokemon (shit! Now they are probably coming for us
too). Well, it appears they have struck again, and this time against a
bigname website, Daily Radar. While I won't delve into the specifics,
Daily Radar is basically going to stop upcoming Nintendo coverage, both
in protest and fear that their content would be severely compromised.
Here is a little snip:Frankly, we feel betrayed by this
lawsuit. Here we've been, drooling publicly over Gamecube, talking
animatedly about the Game Boy Advance, going home and playing each and
every new Nintendo game with the same excitement we felt as kids, and
Nintendo's response is to sue us over publishing some screenshots and
for using the word Pokemon. Because we feel betrayed, and because we
cannot figure out how we could possibly offer you uncompromised
coverage of Nintendo platforms without screenshots or movies or using
the names of Nintendo's products, we have decided to immediately cease
all coverage on the Nintendo channel. In fact, we will not cover any
Nintendo platform, or any games published on Nintendo platforms, until
the lawsuit is over. Needless to say I just lost what
LITTLE respect I had for Nintendo, and will never be buying a Nintendo
product again. As if there games geared towards 12 year olds and
technologically inferior consoles weren't enough, now they are striking
out at the fans who helped make their console so popular. Die a
gruesome and horrible death Nintendo, there are more then enough
consoles around without you.

No F1: Racing Championship in US -
Our Affiliates, N64 Europe, are reporting that F1 Racing Championship will more then likely never see a US release. Here is the skinny:The
game that's considered to be the best racing game ever by the experts
(Tim & Gerben), won't get a US release. Ubi Soft has announced that
F1: Racing Championship won't be shipped to any US stores, and will
therefore probably only be available in Europe and Australia.
